The Written Word and The Spoken Word

There is power in words. Power to heal and power to destroy. Power to buildup and power to tear down.

I had the opportunity to speak at a church that I love in East Texas this past Sunday. I told stories and I shared the written word of God. As I think about what I read and shared they were both powerful… not because it had anything to do with me. It was powerful because it was God’s Word and His love that was shared.

So I wonder today, if our words are spoken or written out of love or is it something else? Do we speak to impress for our ego or personal advancement? Or do we speak to educate, motivate and encourage?

I just think our words need to be used, whether they are spoken or written to make our world better. Asking ourselves, “Is this going to help or hurt?”, can change the way we communicate and it can change the way impact this world around us.

How about we let our words make the world a little better place for us all.
